The Boston Public Schools is seeking a highly qualified School-Based Social Worker to join our team. As a key member of our student support services, you will work closely with students, families, and school staff to provide high-quality, culturally responsive direct services.
Key Responsibilities- Provide individual and group counseling services to students, including IEP and non-IEP services.
- Develop and implement tiered interventions to support student success, including crisis intervention and response.
- Collaborate with school staff and community partners to provide comprehensive support services to students and families.
- Monitor and maintain data related to student progress and services provided.
- Participate in professional development and coaching to ensure continuous improvement of service delivery.
- Master's degree in Social Work or Counseling.
- MA DESE School Social Worker/School Adjustment Counselor License (All Levels).
- Licensed Social Worker (LCSW or LICSW) or Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in an urban setting providing clinical services.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse populations.
- Prior experience as a school-based social worker.
- Knowledge of Special Education policies and procedures.
- Fluency in one of BPS' official languages: Spanish, Creole (Cape Verdean), Creole (Haitian), Chinese, Vietnamese, Portuguese, or Somali.
