Position Overview:
The Cheese Specialist is responsible for the preparation and presentation of cheese and related products within the department. This role requires maintaining a clean, organized, and inviting display while ensuring that all products are fresh, rotated, and adequately stocked for customer satisfaction. Exceptional customer service is a key component of this position.
Compensation:
Starting pay for this role is $20.60 per hour.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Proficient in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English, with the ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Availability to work a schedule that meets the operational needs of the store.
- Authorized to work in the United States.

- Make product recommendations to enhance customer experience.
- Prepare, wrap, weigh, label, and price various cheese products.
- Maintain and stock the cheese case and related sections, including coffee beans and crackers, while creating attractive platters and fulfilling orders.
- Ensure the department is merchandised according to community preferences and sales initiatives.
- Regularly rotate stock to adhere to company policy and product code dates, utilizing the oldest products first.
- Receive deliveries and store products in designated areas to maintain freshness.
- Keep accurate records, including receiving logs and inventory, and respond promptly to departmental communications.
- Monitor temperature settings in coolers and display cases to ensure product quality, reporting any issues immediately.
- Adhere to sanitation procedures and maintain cleanliness in the work area.
- Ensure all sales and work areas are clean, organized, and free from hazards, reporting any safety concerns to management.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Efficiently restock supplies to minimize waste and control costs.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in display cases, coolers, and freezers.
- Promote product sampling to enhance customer engagement.
- Ensure compliance with company dress code standards among department associates.
- Report any incidents of theft or unauthorized markdowns to management.
- Complete all required onboarding and training within the specified timeframe.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Physical Demands:
The physical requirements of this position may include:
- Occasional pushing of up to 300 lbs and lifting of up to 45 lbs.
- Frequent carrying of up to 45 lbs, bending, balancing, and reaching.
- Continuous standing and walking on tile or concrete surfaces.
