Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Paratransit Driver to join our team at Cetronia Ambulance Corps. As a Paratransit Driver, you will be responsible for providing safe and efficient transportation to patients who require non-emergency medical transportation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide safe and efficient transportation to patients, adhering to all relevant regulations and guidelines.
  • Complete and submit all required written reports in a timely manner.
  • Maintain assigned vehicle in a constant state of readiness, adhering to Corps standards.
  • Interact professionally with EMS providers in field situations.
Requirements
  • Knowledge of methods and techniques for providing on-site patient handling for litter and wheelchair-bound patients.
  • Professional communication techniques.
  • CPR certification.
  • Ability to read maps and understand local area EMS infrastructure and geography.
Technical Skills
  • Professional operation of ambulette and wheelchair transport vehicles.
  • Ability to safely maneuver patients in and out of vehicles and their pick-up/destination locations.
  • Effective communication skills, both orally and in writing.
  • Planning, coordinating, and adhering to scheduled work assignments.
Behavioral Skills
  • Ability to work smoothly and professionally in a team environment.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision for assigned tasks.
  • Exercise sound independent judgment within general policy and procedural guidelines.
  • Anticipate and identify problems, taking initiative to prevent or correct them.
Certification(s) and/or License(s)
  • Valid State of Pennsylvania Driver License (must have and maintain a clean driving record).
  • BCLS Certification (ARC or AHA accepted).
  • Paratransit Driver Safety Course (Rev).
  • AED Certification.
  • Annual Blood Borne Pathogens/TB/Haz-Com Awareness Program completion.
Education and/or Experience
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
Physical Demands

The following guidelines describe the frequency of activities in this position:

  • Standing/Walking: As stated, the individual may spend 8 to 10 hours at the job site. While at rest in this facility, standing/walking will be optional. On arrival to a transport, walking could be occasional to frequent.
  • Sitting: When responding to an emergency situation, the individual will sit in the transport vehicle.
  • Lifting/Carrying: Frequently, the individual will be required to lift weights ranging from a few pounds to 100 pounds and above.
  • Bending/Stooping: Frequently throughout a work shift, the individual will be required to bend in a range of one degree to 90 degrees.
  • Crouching/Kneeling: Occasionally, the Paratransit Driver is required to perform this activity.
  • Climbing: Occasionally, the worker will be required to climb.
  • Reaching: Reaching is performed frequently to continuously throughout the work shift.
  • Pushing/Pulling: Frequently throughout a work shift, the individual will be required to push and pull.
  • Handling Grasping: While working at an accident site, continual bilateral gross manipulation is performed in this job.
Salary

$15.25 per hour
