Job Summary:

Under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN), the Critical Care Technician will assist with patients' activities of daily living and plan of care. This includes supporting the activities of daily living, performing technical duties as directed by the RN, and communicating with and supporting the healthcare team, patients, and/or patient's family or significant other(s).

Responsibilities:
  • Support patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, oral care, feeding, toileting/hygiene, and assisting with mobility and transport.
  • Perform technical duties as directed by the RN, such as phlebotomy, vital signs, point of care testing, EKGs, and Foley catheter care.
  • Identify and communicate changes in patient status to the RN and respond appropriately.
  • Reinforce education of patients and families/responsible parties regarding individual care needs and safety issues.
  • Participate in Cooper patient satisfaction initiatives and goals, and participate in performance improvement activities.
  • Assist in orientation of new hires and complete annual unit-specific competencies by specified due date.
Requirements:
  • 0-2 years of experience preferred
  • High School / GED
  • Successful completion of an unlicensed healthcare provider/technician program
  • Completed at least one fundamental nursing course in an accredited RN program
  • AHA Basic Life Support certification required
Work Environment:

This is a full-time day shift position, working 36 hours per week. The hours are 7a-7p.
