Join Our Diverse Team:This role acts as the primary resource for regular profit and cash flow budgeting, forecasting, and business performance evaluation and reporting for the polypropylene (PP) sector within the North American Olefins and Polyolefins division. The selected candidate will be recognized as the financial planning authority with extensive knowledge across the PP product categories and facilities.
This position entails the coordination, consolidation, and analysis of substantial segments of the yearly sales, production, and variable & fixed cost budgets, serving as a crucial point of contact for all budget-related matters. The incumbent will be viewed as an expert in the utilization and functioning of the company's financial systems. He/she will serve as the main contact for General Ledger/SAP accounting concerns regarding the accurate allocation of costs and revenues to cost centers and profit centers, providing guidance to Finance department members through collaborative efforts. Strong connections will be maintained with senior business management, operational teams, and within the CFO organization.
A Typical Day:- Deliver comprehensive financial support to Business Directors and the Segment.
- Provide analysis and insights vital for shaping the business unit's overarching strategy and assessing a variety of opportunities.
- Conduct monthly forecasting and planning for the income statement, balance sheet, and cash flows.
- Prepare the annual budget.
- Conduct quarterly MD&A segment evaluations.
- Collaborate with the JV accounting team and Business leadership to comprehend core financial drivers and effectively translate information into a business forecast.
- Facilitate quarterly meetings to prepare Senior Executives for the JV Board of Directors meetings.
- Investigate and resolve General Ledger/SAP accounting issues related to the proper assignment of costs and revenues.
- Work with the business to identify and measure Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Manage working capital for the business unit.
- Perform monthly financial analyses and ad hoc special business performance evaluations.
- Support and report on Value Enhancement Program initiatives related to the Business.
Education:
- A Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting is required; however, high-potential candidates with less relevant experience may be considered.
- An MBA, CPA, CFA, or equivalent experience is preferred.
Work Experience:
- At least 8+ years of experience in a multi-entity, complex global setting.
- Experience in the petrochemical or related industries is advantageous.
- Familiarity with ERP and Financial Planning systems (SAP, Oracle, BPC, OneStream).
Skills:
- Strong analytical, evaluative, and judgment capabilities.
- Comprehensive understanding of financial and manufacturing accounting principles and procedures (US GAAP and IFRS), along with financial performance indicators (e.g., margin, ROCE).
- Interpersonal skills essential for effective teamwork and achieving results through collaboration.
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills suitable for engaging with Senior Managers and Executives.
- Advanced proficiency in PC applications, including spreadsheets, databases, graphics, statistical forecasting, and modeling.
- Ability to work independently, resolve unique problems, and drive continuous process improvements while demonstrating strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proven leadership capabilities with expertise in mentoring, team development, and project planning.
- Capacity to introduce innovation and creativity to enhance business and functional processes while maintaining a robust control environment.
- Attention to detail to ensure that accounting and financial information is timely, accurate, and complete.
- Aptitude for managing conflicting priorities and providing sound business and financial counsel to business unit management while consistently challenging the team to optimize results and add value.
- High level of self-motivation with a strong sense of urgency and accountability.
