Job Summary
The Diagnostic Imaging Specialist will be responsible for providing diagnostic patient care services using diagnostic medical sonography. This role requires a strong clinical background and experience in ultrasound procedures. The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable about Prisma Health's values and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities
The Diagnostic Imaging Specialist will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Performing ultrasound procedures using independent judgment during the sonographic exam to accurately differentiate between normal and pathological findings.
- Analysing sonograms, synthesizing sonographic information and medical history, and communicating findings to the appropriate physician.
- Ensuring imaging quality is acceptable by quality control standard to include all protocol requirements.
- Staying abreast of organizational, affiliate, and departmental changes/updates by checking email on each shift.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Requirements
To be eligible for this role, the Diagnostic Imaging Specialist must have:
- Completion of a radiology program or sonography program. An accredited program is preferred.
- No previous experience is required, but sonography clinical experience is preferred.
Certifications and Licenses
The Diagnostic Imaging Specialist must be credentialed as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) and have a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Estimated Salary
The estimated salary for this role is between $65,000 and $85,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.

The Diagnostic Imaging Specialist will work in a fast-paced clinical environment, interacting with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
