Forensic Pathologist Academic Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Forensic Pathologist to join our team at Ochsner Health. As a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Pathology and Translational Pathobiology, you will play a critical role in providing forensic medical evaluations and analysis to determine the cause, manner, and circumstances of death and injuries sustained by deceased persons.
Responsibilities:- Perform autopsies and postmortem examinations
- Interpret laboratory, ancillary, and consultative reports
- Develop forensic evidence for use in legal proceedings
- Testify and serve as an expert witness in criminal court
- Render the Final Autopsy Report and determine cause and manner of death
- Advise parish coroners and coordinate work of staff
- Teach medical and allied health students and pathology residents
- MD or DO degree
- Board-certified or board-eligible in Anatomic Pathology and/or Clinical Pathology
- Eligible to obtain an unrestricted medical license in Louisiana
- Completed a Forensic Fellowship and subspecialty board certified within 1 year of employment
- Salary starting at $290,000 and commensurate with experience and training
