Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) for our Outpatient Neurosurgery Clinic at Texas Children's Hospital in The Medical Center. This role requires a professional nurse who can provide direct and telephone care, health teaching, patient advocacy, and coordination of services required for patients outside the ambulatory care setting.

About the Role

This position involves providing high-quality nursing care to patients, families, and caregivers. You will work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized plans of care that address the unique needs of each patient. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring timely and effective delivery of care, prioritizing interventions, and conducting ongoing reassessments to revise diagnoses and outcomes as needed.

Responsibilities
  • Use evidence-based assessment techniques and interviewing instruments to collect pertinent patient data
  • Develop and update individualized plans of care for health promotion, health malignance, or health-related situational problems
  • Prioritize interventions and implement the plan of care in partnership with patients, families, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals
  • Conduct reevaluations and follow-ups of care delivered based on patient needs, condition, or requests
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or Associate's Degree in Nursing with BSN program acceptance or current enrollment
  • Verified BSN-equivalency or signed agreement required
  • Current licensure with the Board of Nursing for the State of Texas or Nurse Licensure Compact
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association required
  • 1 year of professional nursing experience
  • EPIC experience highly preferred
