The role of the Registered Nurse within the Ambulatory Clinics at Dartmouth Health involves being a part of the Staffing Resource Team, which operates under the System Staffing Office. This is a full-time position with flexible scheduling options including 4 x 9's or 4 x 8's plus an additional 4-hour shift or 5 x 8's during daytime hours.
Compensation
Employees in this role are eligible for a $5.00 shift differential for their contributions to the Staffing Resource Team.
Team Structure
The Staffing Resource Team consists of dedicated nursing professionals who provide essential support across various departments within the Dartmouth Hitchcock ambulatory settings, responding to current staffing demands.
Key Responsibilities
1. **Assessment and Planning**: Employ the nursing process to evaluate, diagnose, and create individualized care plans for patients.
2. **Critical Thinking**: Utilize analytical skills to foresee and identify changes in patient conditions, adjusting care plans or escalating issues to the healthcare team as needed.
3. **Ethical Practice**: Adhere to the ANA Code of Ethics, advocating for patient rights and promoting informed decision-making.
4. **Mentorship**: Guide and support fellow nursing staff and students, fostering professional growth and development.
5. **Accountability**: Take responsibility for patient care while effectively delegating tasks to other team members in compliance with established regulations.
6. **Continuous Improvement**: Stay updated with the latest evidence-based practices and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited Nursing Program is required.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) with a minimum of one year of experience is preferred.
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) with at least two years of experience is acceptable.
Licensure and Certifications
- Must possess a valid Registered Nurse license with eligibility in the state.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory upon hire, with higher-level certifications as required by the unit.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification is required for specific departments.
