Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Crane Operator to join our team at Naval Facilities Engineering Command. As a Crane Operator, you will be responsible for operating multiple types of hydraulic boom cranes to load, unload, move, and position heavy material and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate boom cranes to load, unload, move, and position material with restricted maneuverability, requiring critical accuracy.
  • Interpret and work from standard hand and radio signals.
  • Perform required operator's maintenance, inspections, and reporting.
  • Use Operator's Daily Checklists to document pre and post crane inspections.
Requirements

Applicants must meet the requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Job Qualification Handbook for Trades and Labor Occupations.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program.

A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if the selectee fails to meet the pre-employment requirements, including failure to report to any of the scheduled appointments.

The selection of an annuitant is subject to the Department of Defense and Department of the Navy policy on the employment of annuitants.

May be required to work overtime, shift work, or call back. May require certification for moving/loading ammunition.
