Job Summary:

St. Mary's Health Care is seeking a highly skilled Medical Dosimetrist to join our team. As a Medical Dosimetrist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accurate delivery of radiation therapy to our patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and contour normal and dose-limiting structures by utilizing images from one or more data sets, assuming proficiency in image registration with various image data sets to include CT, MRI, and PET.
  • Create and transfer reference images and localization markers for portal verification and treatment delivery, including DRRs, CBCTs, and other IGRT methods, as specified.
  • Perform or assist in the planning and implementation of the fabrication of custom shields, wedges, and other beam-modifying devices.
  • Perform calculations for the accurate delivery of the prescribed dose, document all pertinent information in the patient record, and verify the mathematical accuracy of all calculations by an approved method.
  • Provide assistance and technical support to the medical physicist in radiation safety and protection, qualitative machine calibrations, quality assurance of treatment plans, and radiation oncology equipment.
  • Operate and perform quality assurance, under the direction of the Medical Physicist, on the treatment planning computer(s).
  • Perform or assist in the application of specific methods of patient and/or beam dosimetry as directed by the Medical Physicist.
  • Participate in quality improvement processes.
  • Assist physicist in the design and implementation of research activities and performs special projects related to dosimetry.

Requirements:

  • Associates degree in a related field; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Three years' experience preferred.
  • Varian & Eclipse TPS experience preferred.
  • Certification through the Medical Dosimetry Certification Board (MDCB).
  • Licensed Radiation Therapist (ARRT) preferred.
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and follow instructions in English.
