Work Shifts
Available shifts include:
• 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
• 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM
• 11:00 PM - 7:30 AM
Compensation
Job Grade L - Salary $79,666.00
Key Responsibilities
• Develop, implement, and assess nursing care for a designated unit or shift.
• Ensure that nursing staff evaluate client health concerns and needs, formulate and execute nursing care plans, and maintain comprehensive medical records.
• Oversee the quality and delivery of nursing care to clients who are ill, injured, recovering, or disabled.
• Provide guidance to clients regarding health maintenance and disease prevention, or offer case management services.
• Supervise and organize the tasks of assigned nursing staff.
Performance Standards
• Administer prescribed medications and initiate intravenous fluids, documenting times and quantities in client records.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate client care strategies.
• Maintain accurate and detailed client reports and records.
• Adjust treatment plans based on client responses and conditions.
• Monitor all aspects of client care, including dietary and physical activity.
• Record and report symptoms and changes in client conditions.
• Observe nursing staff and visit clients to ensure appropriate nursing care is being delivered.
• Prepare clients for examinations and treatments, assisting as necessary.
• Ensure rooms, sterile instruments, equipment, and supplies are ready and stocked.
• Educate clients and their families on health-related topics.
• Provide healthcare services, first aid, immunizations, and support during recovery and rehabilitation.
Technical Skills Required
• Proficient in assessing, planning, and delivering fundamental nursing skills; familiar with procedures for developing, implementing, and updating care plans.
• Knowledgeable about nursing policies, procedures, protocols, treatment standards, and the nurse practice act.
• Experienced in medication administration, including oral, sublingual, and IV medications; understanding of pharmacology.
• Familiar with immunization regulations and protocols.
• Capable of performing CPR and, for certain locations, using an AED.
• Strong leadership and supervisory skills, including team management, performance evaluation, training, decision-making, and delegation.
• Ability to anticipate and plan for unit needs.
This position may close once a satisfactory applicant pool has been established. State law mandates a national and state background check as a condition of employment. Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited institution or an Associate's degree in nursing along with a current Georgia License as a Registered Professional Nurse, and have two or more years of experience in a managerial or supervisory role.
