LGC Biosearch Technologies is seeking a highly skilled Oligonucleotide Production Technician I – Synthesis to join our team in a high-growth, purpose-driven organization. As a key member of our Oligonucleotide synthesis department, you will be responsible for performing tasks associated with the production of modified oligonucleotides in a high-throughput, fast-paced, and time-sensitive manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities- Operate Complex Equipment: Operate MerMade, H-8, Expedite, AKTÄ Oligopilot, and in-house built DNA Synthesis platforms to manufacture oligonucleotides for RUO and IVD use.
- Maintain Lab Equipment: Maintain and monitor lab equipment as well as a chemical reagent delivery system.
- Participate in Daily Lab Maintenance: Participate in shared daily lab maintenance tasks.
- Record Keeping: Maintain batch records, equipment logs, and other production records as directed per company procedures.
- Manufacturing Activities: Perform manufacturing activities according to written protocols, as directed by the departmental supervisor, manager, or director.
- Quality Management: Conscientiously learn requirements of the ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 quality management systems and diligently follow the terms of a quality contract, which describes the relevance and importance of the employee's work to the achievement of LGC's quality objectives.
- Chemical Handling: Perform safe handling and disposal of all synthesis chemicals appropriately and according to EH&S policy.
- Personal Protective Equipment: Adhere to company Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) policy.
- Time Management: Manage time effectively – schedule and organize varying workload with changing priorities.
- Team Collaboration: Promote cooperation and commitment within a team to achieve goals and deliverables. Communicate effectively within own department and other departments.
- Education: Bachelors or Master's Degree in Life Sciences is required.
- Experience: 0-2 years industry experience, and/or a combination of education and experience that demonstrates proficiency in a lab is strongly preferred.
- Technical Skills: Microsoft Office, Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel. Use of a web browser.
- Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
