Key Responsibilities:

The Culinary Assistant is tasked with providing efficient service to customers through a variety of responsibilities associated with a fine dining culinary environment while ensuring adherence to sanitation protocols.

  • Assist the Executive Chef, Sous Chef, or Kitchen Supervisors with opening and closing tasks and food preparation.
  • Prepare food items in accordance with portion sizes, quality standards, and departmental policies.
  • Ensure proper food temperatures are consistently maintained.
  • Maintain safety standards and cleanliness in work areas.
  • Keep the kitchen environment clean, including shelves, walls, floors, and drains.
  • Work collaboratively as a team member with specific duties related to food preparation and service delivery.
  • Ensure proper sanitation of all dining and cooking utensils and equipment.
  • Handle kitchen equipment with care to prevent damage or injury.
  • Adhere to company guidelines regarding appearance and uniform standards.

Qualifications:

  • Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
  • Professional training through culinary education or experience in a fast-paced, high-volume fine dining establishment is preferred.
  • Ability to interact effectively with colleagues to ensure compliance with service standards.
  • Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation, service standards, and guest relations is required.
  • Ability to multitask in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.
  • Proficiency in reading, speaking, and writing in English is necessary.
  • Capability to lift and transport food and other items weighing up to 30 pounds, occasionally up to 50 pounds.
  • Availability to work all events, including extended hours, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must possess sufficient mobility to perform assigned tasks, including reaching, bending, stooping, wiping, pushing, and pulling for extended periods.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required; culinary training is preferred.
  • At least one year of experience in a fast-paced, high-end club or restaurant is necessary.


Practice safe work habits, adhere to all safety policies and procedures, and complete any required safety training.
