The Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior at Thomas Jefferson University invites individuals to apply for a faculty position in the David Farber ASPIRE Center, a newly developing center focused on understanding and treating individuals of all ages who are at increased risk for suicide. This will be a faculty appointment within the medical school at the Associate or Full Professor level.

About the RoleThis faculty position is focused on building a research program targeting the unique qualities and specialized areas of the David Farber ASPIRE Center and help it to grow into a premier suicide prevention program in the region. The successful candidate will have the ability and desire to be a foundational research team member of the center and build an independent and sustainable research trajectory in suicide prevention.
The academic center is focused on suicide prevention research and education; however, the center will also include outpatient clinical operations and function as a satellite to the larger outpatient psychiatric practice housed within the department. The clinic provides an intentional focus on family and family-based intervention. Faculty will have the potential to utilize this clinical setting for research inquiry.
Strong candidates will have a strong background in Psychology, Neuroscience, Public Health, or any other discipline that effectively aligns with the overall focus of the center. They will have a proven track record of conducting high-quality research, with a focus on suicide prevention.
About the TeamThe Department has strong partnerships with Addiction Medicine, Neuroscience, Public Health, Emergency Medicine, and Primary Care at Thomas Jefferson University in addition to other Philadelphia based collaborators. The successful candidate will join a team of dedicated professionals who are passionate about advancing knowledge and improving outcomes in mental health.

Salary InformationThe salary for this position is estimated to be around $250,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. This is a competitive salary that reflects the importance of this role and the contributions we expect from our faculty members.
