The Utilization Review Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring the highest quality of patient care while optimizing costs. This position requires strong communication and analytical skills to work closely with physicians, social services, and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Admission and Concurrent Review: Conduct thorough assessments of newly admitted patients to ensure they receive the most effective treatment.
  • Quality Documentation: Collaborate with physicians and social services to ensure accurate and comprehensive documentation of patient care.
  • Medicare B-Tag Audits: Complete audits to ensure compliance with Medicare regulations.
  • High-Social Risk Case Finding: Identify patients at high risk and develop strategies to mitigate these risks.
  • Patient and Family Education: Provide education and support to patients and their families to ensure they understand their treatment plans.
  • Coordination with Community Agencies: Liaise with community-based social and mental health agencies to ensure seamless care transitions.
  • Treatment Planning: Participate in the development of treatment plans and interventions to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Requirements
  • Master's Degree: A Master's degree in Psychology, Mental Health Counseling, Social Work, or a related field is required.
  • Experience: Three to five years of experience in chart analysis and utilization review in the psychiatric and chemical dependency field is preferred.
  • Licensure: A valid Florida license, such as an RN, LSCW, LMHC, or LMFT, is preferred.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills are required to effectively communicate with patients, physicians, staff, and administration.
  • Emotional Stability: A stable emotional makeup is essential to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
