The Direct Support Professional (CLI) plays a crucial role in overseeing consumers to guarantee their safety and well-being.

This is a part-time role, requiring availability on Saturdays and Sundays from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Document and report observable changes in resident behavior, attitude, and physical condition.
  • Engage in re-motivation, rehabilitation, resocialization, and behavior modification initiatives.
  • Facilitate the development of self-help skills and social behaviors tailored to individual resident needs.
  • Lead and participate in both group and individual activities with residents.
  • Accompany residents to appointments or as directed.
  • Contribute to specialized programs, including adjunctive therapies and individual interactions with residents.
  • Provide basic nursing care, such as monitoring vital signs, applying simple dressings, and ensuring general daily care of residents.
  • Assist healthcare professionals with various diagnostic and treatment procedures.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment for residents.
  • Support the orientation process for new residents.
  • Respond to emergencies according to unit guidelines, assisting residents during such situations.
  • Prepare and maintain necessary records and reports.
  • Ensure adequate supplies and equipment are available.
  • Administer medications to clients once certified as a DMH Level 1 Medication Aide.
  • Obtain CPR certification within the first 90 days of employment.
  • Provide transportation assistance to clients as clinically indicated; driving is an essential function of this role.
  • Train new staff on basic job responsibilities (CLI Shadow Trainer only).
  • Conduct follow-up training for staff as needed (CLI Shadow Trainer only).
  • Communicate with clients and/or their families using sign language when necessary (CLI Sign Fluent only).
  • Complete documentation and paperwork within the required timeframe.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

    High School diploma or GED is required.

    EXPERIENCE/TRAINING/ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
  • A minimum of one (1) year of relevant work experience or self-employment is required.
  • A valid, unrestricted driver's license at the time of hire, with the ability to obtain and maintain a class E MO driver's license within the first 60 days of employment.
  • Basic computer skills are necessary.
