As a key member of our emergency medical services team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and transportation services in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess each call situation to determine the best course of action and appropriate protocol.
  • Utilize medical equipment and procedures, including defibrillators, EKG monitors, oxygen, and suction devices, to provide advanced medical care.
  • Provide patient care according to clinical protocols and safety requirements.
  • Lift and move patients as required to provide optimum care.
  • Act as team leader and take responsibility for scene and unit management as needed.
  • Continuously maintain all required certifications.
  • Document activities with regard to patient care and billing completely to ensure accurate information is available regarding each call.
  • Work collaboratively and in a professional manner with all allied health and public safety personnel.
  • Report any incidents involving negative customer and/or patient interactions to the on-duty supervisor immediately.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED). Some advanced education preferred.
  • Texas Drivers' License
  • State of Texas EMT License
  • CPR Card (American Heart Association ONLY, Health Care Provider. Handwritten cards are not acceptable)
  • ICS courses: IS-100B (ICS 100), IS-200B (ICS 200), IS-700A (NIMS), IS-800B (NIMS)
  • Some past work experience, preferably in healthcare desired.
