Role Summary

The Senior HVAC Technician is primarily tasked with executing installations, repairs, and maintenance on a diverse range of systems, including but not limited to: refrigeration units, air conditioning systems, electric motors, heating apparatus, heat pumps, and various types of boilers. This role is classified as safety-sensitive.

Key Responsibilities
  • Comprehensively understands refrigeration cycles, including component identification, operational diagnostics, and troubleshooting using appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Possesses in-depth knowledge of heating systems, including component functionality and diagnostics through gas pressure testing and combustion theory.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in electrical systems, including AC and DC circuits, and is capable of interpreting complex wiring diagrams and utilizing multi-meters for troubleshooting.
  • Understands the principles of temperature and humidity control in HVAC systems, employing psychometric charts for air treatment processes.
  • Has a foundational grasp of various HVAC systems and their interrelated components, including chilled water systems and steam heating systems.
  • Maintains effective communication with management regarding scheduling and project updates.
  • Engages in training and meetings as required.
  • Interacts with clients and supports the sales team with estimates and proposals.
  • Documents activities and maintains logs as per company protocols.
  • Provides emergency assistance to address immediate safety issues.
Additional Duties
  • Completes other related tasks as assigned to ensure project efficiency.
  • Exhibits flexibility in work hours and locations as needed.
  • Maintains a professional appearance while representing the company.
  • May be required to work overtime and be on-call as necessary.
  • Responsible for transporting tools and equipment to job sites.
  • Ensures vehicle cleanliness and maintenance, along with a safe driving record.
Qualifications
  • Must possess an Apprentice License and EPA Certification, along with a minimum of 15 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • Certifications from manufacturers and completion of relevant seminars are preferred.
Skills and Abilities
  • Demonstrates a basic understanding of English for effective communication.
  • Maintains a clean driving record and holds a valid driver's license.
  • Capable of repairing and maintaining various HVAC equipment and systems.
Work Environment

The work environment may involve exposure to varying temperatures and weather conditions. Employees may work at heights and in confined spaces, requiring adherence to safety protocols.

Physical Requirements

Employees must be able to perform physical tasks such as lifting, climbing, and working in various conditions. A commitment to safety and professionalism is essential in all interactions.
