Position Summary: This role involves serving as a Health Technician specializing in Audiology and Office Automation within Military Treatment Facilities under DHA.
Eligibility:
- Open to U.S. Citizens, Nationals, or individuals with allegiance to the U.S.
- Coordinate and manage appointment scheduling for both existing and new patients.
- Utilize computerized audiometric equipment to conduct simultaneous tests on multiple patients.
- Provide guidance to patients regarding hearing conservation practices.
- Conduct otoscopic assessments to verify that ear canals are clear of obstructions.
- Create custom earmold impressions for hearing aids and specialized hearing protection.
- Maintain inventory levels of supplies through regular monthly assessments.
- Ensure that audiology instruments are kept in a sterile and operational condition.
- Position may require a suitability determination based on a background investigation.
- Mandatory participation in pre-employment screening and random drug testing.
- Annual influenza vaccination is required.
- Immunization screening is necessary, including Hepatitis B for roles with direct patient interaction.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained and maintained.
- Council for Accreditation of Hearing Conservation (CAOHC) certification is required within 30 days of hire.
- Travel for temporary duty may be necessary.
Who Can Apply: U.S. Citizens
To qualify, candidates must meet the educational and/or experiential criteria outlined below. Experience encompasses both paid and unpaid roles, including volunteer work through National Service programs and other organizations.
Specialized Experience: At least one year of relevant experience, which includes assisting with hearing aid modifications, supporting audiological examinations, and operating automated systems or equipment.
OR
Education: A bachelor's degree in a relevant field with at least 24 semester hours in subjects related to Audiology.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A mix of education and experience may be considered as long as the total meets the required qualifications.
Additional Information
- Male applicants born after a specific date must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.

- A one-year trial or probationary period may be applicable.
