Position Title: Mortgage Lending Specialist

Overview of Responsibilities:
We are seeking a driven mortgage professional dedicated to delivering exceptional client service within our lending division.

As a Mortgage Lending Specialist, your role will involve gathering and evaluating clients' financial information, serving as a trusted consultant to recommend suitable mortgage solutions and additional financial products tailored to their needs.

You will also explore and create opportunities to engage new clients, nurturing relationships with referral sources such as real estate agents, builders, banking colleagues, legal advisors, past clients, accountants, and others within your network.


Key Responsibilities:


A typical day will focus on the sales and origination of residential loans for single-family homes, adhering to established guidelines and rates set by the organization and its partners.

In collaboration with prospective borrowers, you will assess their financial situation, including income, assets, and liabilities, to identify the most appropriate mortgage options and effectively pre-qualify them for financing.

Throughout the lending journey, you will maintain communication with applicants, securing necessary documentation to facilitate processing, underwriting, and loan closure.

As a results-oriented individual, you will aim to consistently meet production goals while cross-selling bank products when relevant.

Embodying the core values of German American, you will maintain a positive demeanor and act with integrity, providing exemplary customer service at all times.

Committed to continuous learning, you will enhance your industry knowledge and adhere to relevant state and federal regulations, the company's compliance policies, and external compliance requirements, including the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA).


Qualifications:
- NMLS State License or Federal NMLS Registration
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in real estate, mortgage, or a related sales field

Essential Skills:
- Strong entrepreneurial and business development capabilities
- Proficient in needs analysis, evaluating customer financial information
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

Knowledge Requirements:
- Familiarity with Conventional, VA, USDA, FHA, FNMA, and Portfolio underwriting guidelines
- Understanding of mortgage compliance regulations
- Sound business judgment regarding bank mortgage products, policies, and procedures
