San Diego, California, United States Sony Interactive Entertainment Full time

Why Work at PlayStation?

PlayStation is a global leader in entertainment, producing innovative products and services such as PlayStation5, PlayStation4, PlayStationVR, and more. We strive to create an inclusive environment that empowers employees and embraces diversity.

We are driven by our core values: passion, trailblazing, and one team mindset. If you share these values, we encourage you to explore our open positions.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Production Operations Engineer to support the delivery of technical solutions for our Financial Management Application (FMA). This critical platform underpins complex Finance accounting processes, and we need someone with hands-on experience coding using Golang to ensure its continued success.

In this role, you will work on a dev-ops engineering team in a fast-paced 24x7 cloud-based production environment, interacting with other engineers, business customers, and stakeholders. You will participate in operations team activities, monitor system alerts, respond to job failures, and analyze transaction level detail to uncover processing gaps.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and support FMA financial platform capabilities that underpin complex Finance accounting processes.
  • Provide 24x7 production support of a finance technology stack in an AWS cloud environment to support PlayStation's operational excellence.
  • Support business-critical jobs, including successful processing over monthly accounting close.
  • Monitor system alerts; respond to job failures, and work on all issues that impact finance systems stakeholders.
  • Analyze transaction-level detail to uncover processing gaps and respond to complex queries from finance, tax, and compliance departments.
  • Develop custom reports for finance to support finance, legal, audit, and other teams.

Requirements

  • At least 4 years of experience in developing and supporting event-driven architectures with Golang.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • A solid understanding of basic accounting and industry business models, including subscriptions, preorders, royalties, revenue sharing, and bounties.
  • Familiarity with cloud architecture services (AWS), distributed systems, backend architecture, event streaming, producers, consumers, event agents, relational database systems, SQL, Snowflake, ETL tools, and issue tracking software.
  • Experience working with offshore/nearshore service providers and operating independently with minimal supervision.

Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $126,300-$189,500 USD, as well as a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, matching 401(k), paid time off, wellness program, and employee discounts for Sony products. This role may also be eligible for a bonus package.
