Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified Adjunct Faculty member to teach and facilitate student learning in assigned classes. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a learning environment that assists students in reaching their goals and providing effective instruction and assessment within the framework of common syllabi provided by the School.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach and facilitate student learning in assigned classes
  • Provide effective instruction and assessment within the framework of common syllabi
  • Maintain student attendance and grading records according to College policy
  • Submit requested information within established timelines
  • Be available to students outside scheduled class time to answer questions and provide assistance
  • Deal with student concerns and consult with program coordinator to resolve issues
  • Meet all scheduled classes of contracted course(s)
  • Use technology such as Blackboard, PowerPoint, etc. as appropriate
  • Notify program/department chair in event of emergency absence
Requirements
  • Possesses an earned master's or higher degree, from a regionally accredited institution, in sociology, social work, or social psychology, or
  • Possesses an earned master's or higher degree, from a regionally accredited institution, in any field with 18 hours in sociology and/or in any field with 18 graduate semester hours in sociology-related courses, including a course in statistics and/or research methodology
