About the Role:

The Director of Production will oversee all aspects of the production process, ensuring that our collections are produced on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires a strategic leader with deep knowledge of apparel manufacturing, supply chain management, and production planning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and Implement Production Plans: Create and execute production plans that align with the company's product release schedules and ensure timely delivery of collections.
  • Establish and Maintain Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with domestic and international manufacturers, ensuring they meet the company's quality, cost, and delivery expectations.
  • Oversee Quality Control: Ensure quality control processes are in place throughout the production cycle, guaranteeing all products meet the brand's quality standards.
  • Manage Production Budgets: Oversee production budgets, negotiate pricing with suppliers, and identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
  • Continuously Evaluate and Improve: Regularly assess and improve production processes, implementing best practices to increase efficiency, reduce lead times, and minimize waste.
  • Lead and Mentor the Team: Lead and mentor the production team, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages innovation and accountability.
  • Ensure Compliance: Ensure all production practices comply with industry regulations, including labor laws and environmental standards.
  • Drive Sustainability Initiatives: Drive initiatives to incorporate sustainable practices into the production process, supporting the company's commitment to responsible fashion.
  • Address Production Issues: Address and resolve any production issues that arise, ensuring minimal disruption to the production schedule.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with design, sourcing, and logistics teams to ensure seamless integration of production processes with other business functions.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Production Management, Supply Chain Management, Fashion Merchandising, or a related field; an advanced degree is a plus.
  • Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in production management within the fashion or apparel industry, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role.
  • Skills: Proven track record of successfully managing end-to-end production processes for a fashion brand. Strong knowledge of global apparel manufacturing, sourcing strategies, and supply chain management.
  • Leadership Skills: Excellent organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Technical Skills: Experience in managing production budgets and controlling costs without sacrificing quality. Proficiency in production management software and tools (e.g., PLM systems).
  • Personal Qualities: Commitment to sustainability and ethical production practices. Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
