The Director of SEC Reporting & Technical Accounting will be responsible for leading the financial reporting process for Levi Strauss & Co. This individual will consult with relevant stakeholders, including the Global Controller, CFO, external and internal auditors, as well as individuals working in other functional or business areas.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the SEC financial reporting process, ensuring timely and accurate filing of Forms 10-Q/K, 8-K, and other SEC documents.
- Research new and existing accounting literature on GAAP and ensure regions are in compliance with accounting standards, including preparation of related memoranda.
- Educate the Controller's division on recent or changing accounting standards.
- Implement new accounting standards and ensure compliance with industry regulations.
- Conclude on technical accounting and financial reporting matters and provide support to external auditors.
- Review ad hoc analysis over technical accounting transactions to identify and recommend changes for potential accounting considerations.
- Assist the Assistant Controller and the Global Controller with analysis on current business issues and their potential impact on accounting, disclosure, and filing requirements.
- Maintain the effectiveness of SOX controls over financial reporting and technical accounting processes.
- Manage and develop a team to meet deadlines and support growth.
- Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting.
- CPA.
- Minimum +8 years' experience, public accounting experience preferred.
- Proven knowledge of GAAP, particularly accounting and internal control dynamics.
- Experience with being a business partner, able to work both independently and as a team player in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels of the organization.
- Able to operate at a detailed level without losing sight of the big picture.
- Ability to adhere to critical deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven ability in problem-solving, directing/leading and motivating others, and working in cross-functional teams.
