Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Custodian/Groundskeeper to join our team at Perris Elementary School District. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our buildings and grounds.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clean and maintain classrooms, offices, restrooms, and other facilities to ensure a safe and healthy environment for students and staff.
  • Perform outdoor and general grounds care duties, including mowing, trimming, and pruning landscaping.
  • Operate various equipment, such as sweepers, floor polishers, and lawn mowers, to maintain the facilities and grounds.
  • Assist with special events and activities, such as setting up for meetings and events, and preparing athletic event areas.
  • Perform minor repairs and maintenance tasks, such as changing light bulbs and fixing minor issues with facilities and equipment.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • One year of paid experience in grounds maintenance or gardening work, or six months of experience in the care and cleaning of buildings and facilities.
  • Valid California Motor Vehicle Operator's License required.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others, learn and apply rules and regulations, and perform routine grounds and custodial activities.
Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, lift heavy objects, and perform physical labor. The physical demands of this position include exerting 75 to 100 pounds of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.

The selected candidate will be required to furnish physical examination and negative TB test results prior to employment.
