Job Overview

The Plant Operations Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing and managing the scheduling of conditioning, reworking, packaging, and treatment processes in collaboration with the Supply Planning Team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervision: Directly supervise plant personnel, including third-party labor, with an expectation of spending 50% of time on the production floor.
  • Maintenance Coordination: Work closely with the Operations Manager to coordinate the preventative maintenance schedule for the facility.
  • Employee Development: Hire, train, and mentor both full-time and third-party employees to ensure a skilled workforce.
  • Operations Management: Assist in managing critical operations, overseeing processes from bulk storage to finished goods inventory.
  • Quality Systems: Contribute to the development, implementation, and monitoring of quality systems and processes tailored for site operations.
  • HSE Compliance: Promote a culture of operational excellence by adhering to all relevant Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and corporate guidelines, actively supporting Syngenta's Goal Zero initiative.
  • Inventory Management: Manage the inventory of packaging and treatment supplies to meet production and shipping requirements.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Maintain a strong understanding of seed labeling laws, seed certification laws, and interstate shipment regulations.
  • Technical Proficiency: Demonstrate experience with industrial production equipment, including color sorters and various bagging and palletizing systems.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a strong attention to detail and the ability to execute daily operations effectively. Proficiency in computer applications such as Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word is essential.
