We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team at AM General. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for managing the procurement process from start to finish, ensuring that all contracts are executed in accordance with corporate guidelines.
Key Responsibilities- Procurement Management: Manage the procurement process, including identifying and qualifying suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring compliance with all laws and regulations.
- Contract Negotiation: Negotiate contracts with suppliers to ensure fair and reasonable pricing, and to ensure that all terms and conditions are met.
- Supply Chain Management: Work closely with suppliers to introduce and manage new technology introductions and development projects.
- Request for Proposal (RFP) Management: Prepare and issue RFPs to suppliers, and analyze all requirements and provisions in contracts to ensure compliance with all laws.
- Performance Monitoring: Monitor the performance of each signed contract, and ensure that business goals are accomplished by contract implementation.
- Communication: Collaborate with requisitioners and accounting for account updates, accuracy, and issues.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or equivalent required.
- Experience: 3-5 years' experience required in supply chain management experience in military/automotive new-product development through full-rate production.
- Skills: Strong computer and communication skills required (Word, Excel, Project, SAP). Analytical thinking, negotiating, and problem-solving skills required.
- Physical Location: This position operates between an office and manufacturing plant environment and is often assigned to a specific shift or hours.
- Teamwork: This position will work with others to ensure efficiency in the workplace.
- Ability to follow instructions: Managers assign tasks and responsibilities, which vary; this position should be able to follow instructions competently.
- Concentration: This role is often fast-paced, so being able to maintain focus at all times is important.
Up to 25% travel may be required.
