OSI Optoelectronics is in search of an In-Process Inspector to execute inspections, testing, and sampling protocols for product manufacturing processes.This role involves conducting inspections on packaging lines, overseeing manufacturing processes, and testing incoming components and raw materials to ensure compliance with company standards.
Additionally, the individual will monitor critical equipment and instrumentation. Responsibilities may include drafting procedures and assisting in the validation or troubleshooting of testing methods, including assays. The inspector may also apply approval or rejection labels to bulk raw materials based on evaluated analytical data.Key Responsibilities:
Conduct routine checks, tests, gauging, and instrument inspections of materials, goods in process, and finished products. This role is primarily sedentary, focusing on the inspection of assembly and sub-assembly components. Select parts, return to a workstation, and perform visual inspections or dimensional assessments using calibrated instruments.
Carry out assigned routine tests on materials, goods in process, or finished products, comparing results against company quality standards.
Report findings and assist supervisors or production engineers in taking necessary actions.Perform detailed visual inspections when required to ascertain product quality where limits are not clearly defined. Remove defective items and return acceptable products to the production line.
Notify supervisors when inspection data surpass acceptable limits or when significant quality issues arise.
Document results on inspection forms or charts and report the number of defects identified.
May serve as a quality control department clerk, maintaining all quality records for the facility.
Maintain reports on conforming products.
Execute other duties as assigned by supervision.

A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Relevant work experience may substitute for a degree.
A minimum of 1+ years of experience in a microelectronic production environment is required.
Basic knowledge of calibration techniques and product quality assurance is essential.
Soldering inspection experience is required, with IPC-A-610 / J-STD-001 soldering inspection certification preferred.
Strong mathematical skills are necessary, with comfort in working with fractions, decimals, angles, dates, percentages, and AQL sample size determination.
The ideal candidate will possess an understanding of microelectronic inspection concepts and tools, with the ability to inspect assemblies and components with minimal guidance.
Proficiency with measuring instruments is crucial.This includes optical measurement microscopes, calipers, pin gauges, comparators, microscope reticles, digital multi-meters, and testing tools such as die shears, wire bond pull testers, and hermeticity testers.
Basic knowledge of AS9100, ISO 9001, and ISO 13485 is necessary.Effective reading, writing, and communication skills in English are required.
Familiarity with basic computer skills and Microsoft Office is expected, with knowledge of manufacturing inventory software being a plus.
