About the Role:

Phaxis is seeking an Advanced Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join our team in providing high-quality, compassionate care to individuals with mental illness. Key Responsibilities:

  • Treatment Planning: Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that reflect advanced psychiatric practices, including diagnosis and intervention strategies.
  • Medical Management: Order, monitor, and evaluate medical regimens, including medications and tests, to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Crisis Intervention: Respond to crises and complete house visits as necessary, providing support and stabilization to patients in need.
  • Team Collaboration: Consult with the Medical Director and Social Workers to ensure comprehensive care and coordination of services.
  • Communication: Effectively communicate treatment plans and concerns to patients and families, ensuring informed decision-making and engagement.
  • Education and Training: Provide in-service training for staff, clients, and families on mental health topics and best practices.
  • Administrative Tasks: Utilize a computer to develop treatment plans, case summaries, and other administrative tasks.

Requirements:

Applicants must possess the following qualifications:

  • A Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) with specialization in psychiatry, mental health, adolescent nursing, or substance abuse.
  • No less than 2 years' experience in providing mental health or addiction treatment services.
  • Demonstrated expertise in working with children and adolescents, including assessment, intervention, and education.
  • Licensed to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in New York State.
  • Adult Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Certification.
