Job Title: Medical Assistant - Oncology Specialist

Medix is seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant - Oncology Specialist to join our team in Spokane Valley, WA.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a detail-oriented and organized Medical Assistant to assist physicians with medical procedures in our office. The ideal candidate will have experience in phlebotomy, laboratory testing, quality control, instrument troubleshooting, and maintenance.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform proper quality control procedures before proceeding with patient testing.
  • Perform laboratory blood work and blood draws.
  • Follow laboratory procedures for specimen handling and processing.
  • Prepare blood or bone marrow slides for evaluation.
  • Send outside labs to appropriate facilities as dictated by patient's insurance plan.
  • Maintain test report logs, quality control logs, equipment records, and checklists according to all regulatory agencies.
  • Obtain vital signs, height, weight, pain level, and PHQ9 depression screening of patients as requested by physicians and document in the Onco/EMR system.
  • Place patients in exam rooms and prepare for physicians in a timely manner.
  • Receive lab reports via the telephone, lab system, or fax and document in the patient's chart or Onco/EMR for physician's review.

Requirements:

  • WA State MA certification
  • Experience preferred in medical office
