Job Summary
The U.S. Marine Corps is seeking a highly skilled Custodial Worker to join our team. As a Custodial Worker, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our facilities.
Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of duties that require heavy physical effort, including operating heavy powered equipment.
- Responsible for custodial maintenance and security of the assigned activity.
- Maintain the assigned area in a neat and orderly manner.
- Clean and scrub restrooms using proper chemicals.
- Set up and/or move furniture and equipment as needed.
- Dust all walls, furniture, shelves, fixtures, and clean counter surfaces.
- Wash windows and glass partitions.
- Wet mop, wax, buff floors, and sweep daily.
- Replace light bulbs and make minor repairs to equipment.
- Report hazardous conditions, broken, lost or stolen equipment to supervisor.
- Inventory supplies and notify supervisor when ordering is required.
Requirements
- Must have the ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Must have the ability to work safely while moving lightweight objects.
- Must have the ability to use power equipment and perform minor maintenance in this equipment.
- Must be able to recognize hazardous materials and wastes in regard to chemical cleaning compounds and solutions.
Work Environment
The majority of work is performed indoors, in areas that normally have adequate heat, light, and ventilation. Exposed to dirt and disagreeable odors. Exposed to minor injuries.
