Patient Care Technician - Specialist
The Patient Care Technician - Specialist plays a vital role in delivering essential patient support and facilitating departmental operations. This position involves executing specialized patient care tasks after completing the necessary training and annual evaluations. Responsibilities include a variety of patient care activities such as assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), conducting point-of-care testing, monitoring vital signs, and collecting specimens. Additionally, the technician may perform IV insertions, manage wound care, conduct EKGs, and carry out catheterizations. This role also entails assisting with therapeutic procedures, monitoring patient status, and providing guidance to patients and their families under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent is mandatory
- Prior experience in a healthcare setting or enrollment in a relevant educational program
- Successful completion of required training and competency assessments
- Strong communication abilities
- CPR certification is essential
- Compliance with specified clearances
