About Burma Food Group

Burma Food Group is a small but mighty company dedicated to bridging cultures through food. We are the company behind several restaurants in the San Francisco Bay Area, including Burma Superstar, Burma Love, and Burma Bites. Our mission is to bring Burmese cuisine to the world and create a community that celebrates food, life, people, and culture.

We are looking for a Wok Cook to join our team. As a Wok Cook, you will be responsible for cooking all Burmese and Southeast Asian menu items to high standards set by the kitchen manager. You will also be expected to prepare ingredients and portions prior to service, stock and maintain sufficient levels of food products at line stations, and maintain a clean and sanitary workstation area.

Responsibilities
  • Be a team player and work together with your team to foster a healthy and warm atmosphere
  • Cook all Burmese and Southeast Asian menu items in accordance with standards set by the kitchen manager
  • Prepare cooking ingredients and portions prior to service
  • Stocks and maintains sufficient levels of food products at line stations to ensure a smooth service period
  • Maintains a clean and sanitary workstation area
  • Work closely and communicate clearly with other kitchen members
Qualifications
  • Wok cook experience is a must (2+ years' experience preferred)
  • Team player + positive attitude
  • Positive interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a multicultural and diverse team
  • Able to acquire a California Food Handlers License and Sexual Harassment Certification (before or within 2 weeks of hiring)
  • Bilingual is a plus
