Craft Recruiting is seeking a highly skilled Pipelayer Journeyman to join our team. As a Pipelayer Journeyman, you will be responsible for planning, laying out, installing, testing, and repairing all types of underground piping systems in accordance with applicable plans, specifications, codes, and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities- Identify and select parts and components of piping systems to be installed
- Align and set pipe on grade using levels and lasers, cut, fit, and connect pipe using seal joints, cement, glue, or other mechanical fittings
- Grade and level trench bases using tamping equipment and hand tools
- Dig trenches to desired depth, install pipe components, and cover/backfill with earth or other materials
- Estimate sizes, distances, and quantities, or determine time, costs, resources, or materials needed to perform a work activity
- Inspect subordinate's work for compliance with contract plans and specifications, point out deficiencies, and explain and take corrective action as needed
- High school diploma or equivalent with previous years of experience in the field or a related area
- Strong working knowledge skills and abilities for position
- Ability to understand, follow, and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate effectively with management/supervision
- Proficient in the safe and efficient use of electrical, hand tools, power tools, and layout tools as well as measurement tools
- Able to meet all physical requirements
- Must have all required tools
- Expected to climb and work at heights and in confined spaces (may exceed 200 ft)
- Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Able to work overtime, nights, and weekends as required by the workload
- Observe and comply with all safety and project rules
