Program Support Specialist

Position Title: Program Assistant
Work Schedule: Part-time role (21 hours per week), with flexible hours including some evenings.
Department: Plymouth WIC
Compensation: $25.60 per hour

Key Responsibilities:
- Perform general reception duties at WIC locations while maintaining client confidentiality and delivering excellent customer service.
- Assess client eligibility for WIC program certification based on income, identity, and residency criteria.
- Educate clients about their rights and responsibilities, authorized signatures, shopping procedures, WIC-approved foods, and utilizing benefits at authorized vendors.
- Facilitate referrals to MassHealth, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, Transitional Aid to Families of Dependent Children, and other community health and human service initiatives.
- Notify clients regarding the conclusion of certification, missed benefits, and/or ineligibility for WIC benefits.
- Manage the issuance of benefits for prescribed food packages, including (re)issuing food/formula benefits, obtaining participant signatures, and ensuring the security of WIC card stock.
- Conduct confidential file management and maintain quality assurance processes.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED equivalent. A minimum of one year of experience in a customer service environment. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with an understanding of the needs of a culturally diverse clientele. Must be able to travel between various locations.
Preferred Qualifications: An associate degree in Human Services or a related field is preferred. Two years of direct client service experience in a healthcare, human, or community service organization is preferred. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
