Job Summary:

KFI Engineers PC is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer III to join our team. As a key member of our Medical & Clean Manufacturing Group, you will be responsible for providing technical and engineering excellence, as well as successful delivery of work to our customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare engineering documents and equipment specifications to meet contracted scope of work and ensure application of Thermodynamic Principles.
  • Develop estimates for assigned scope of work and ensure we stay within scope.
  • May serve as project manager for complete projects, when assigned.
  • Support the business development process through input to proposals, meeting and presenting to prospective customers, etc.
  • Provide work direction to other team members, including subcontractors, as assigned.
  • Approve final equipment selections and drawing submittals.
  • Provide technical and engineering support to other departments/disciplines.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar, related degree.
  • Minimum of 8 years' Mechanical Engineering experience following graduation.
  • Professional Engineering Registration or willingness to pursue this designation.
  • Proficient in LEED design.
  • Knowledge in both Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Naturally collaborative and possess the ability to assimilate a range of ideas, programs, or alternatives into a set of recommendations.
  • Strong influencing skills and demonstrates maturity and self-confidence to work with colleagues and customers.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills to enable effective interaction with Designers, Engineers, and Project Managers.
  • Supervisory or people-management experience.
  • Effective meeting management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Adaptable and agile, responsive to quick changes in direction.
  • Ability to establish rapport and credibility with customers and other stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of computer technology and specific areas of application.
  • Proficient in use of MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel).
  • Travel: May include up to 25% domestic travel.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in healthcare, government, or education market segments is preferred.
  • Experience in infrastructure design for healthcare facilities.

Working Conditions:

  • Some work locations will feature the tough terrain typical of construction sites or require lifting or moving field testing equipment.
