McKinney Vento Liaison

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated McKinney Vento Liaison to join our team at Chatham County Public Schools. The successful candidate will provide critical support to school-based social workers, ensuring the immediate enrollment of eligible McKinney Vento students and advocating for their full and equal opportunity to succeed in school.

• Work closely with school-based staff and social workers to identify and enroll McKinney Vento students
• Advocate for the educational rights of McKinney Vento students and their families
• Maintain accurate tracking systems for McKinney Vento students
• Collaborate with community agencies and school system staff to coordinate needed services for families
• Provide professional development for stakeholders on McKinney Vento student needs and services
• Ensure that McKinney Vento families are aware of their educational rights and that educational rights are posted throughout the district
• Help students and families access available opportunities and resources to maximize their educational potential

A Bachelor's degree in social work is required, with a Master's degree preferred. The ideal candidate will have experience working with vulnerable populations, particularly those experiencing homelessness or foster care. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

This is a full-time position that requires the ability to work in a variety of settings, including schools and community agencies. The successful candidate will be able to communicate effectively in English and Spanish, and will be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
