Responsibilities- Provide one-on-one patient care in a home environment, ensuring the highest level of comfort and dignity for each patient.
- Execute physicians' prescribed plans of care, adhering to confidentiality standards and professional boundaries at all times.
- Document all activities, assessments, nursing actions, responses, and coordination of care in a timely manner, maintaining accurate and detailed records.
- Develop, implement, and update the nursing care plan, taking into account the patient's unique needs and circumstances.
- Recognize changes in patient needs and responses, implementing care to prevent risk or reduce risk, and achieving expected outcomes.
- Accept responsibility for personal and professional accountability, complying with Aveanna policies, state and federal regulations, accrediting bodies, and the Nurse Practice Act.
- Provide care utilizing infection control measures that protect both staff and patients according to OSHA standards.
- Educate patients and family members regarding disease processes, self-care techniques, and prevention strategies, ensuring they are equipped to meet their nursing needs.
- Maintain knowledge of competencies related to the nursing profession by participating in educational programs, continued education units, internal learning management skills, and skill evaluations.
- Graduate of an accredited Diploma, Associate, or Baccalaureate School of Nursing.
- Demonstrated proficiency in clinical assessments, documentation, and compliance with nursing care and policies and procedures.
- One (1) year of pediatrics experience in South Carolina, or one (1) year of experience working under the current nursing license in California.
- Two (2) years of Registered Nurse experience in Medical Oncology, Ambulatory, Medical Surgical, or Peri-Operative Care.
- Six (6) months of recent experience as a Licensed Nurse in a clinical care setting, with home health experience preferred.
- Ability to speak, write, read, and understand English.
- Ability to travel and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Visual and hearing acuity, with the ability to sufficiently reposition patients and move equipment without assistance.
- Possible exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and infectious diseases.
