Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Public Safety Dispatcher to join our team at the City of Waukesha, WI. As a dispatcher, you will play a critical role in responding to emergency and non-emergency calls for law enforcement, fire, and other public safety services.

Responsibilities:
- Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls for service using computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems
- Communicate with police officers, firefighters, and other emergency responders to coordinate responses to incidents
- Enter information into CAD systems and other databases to track incidents and maintain accurate records
- Provide life-saving instructions and information to callers as needed
- Maintain situational awareness and make decisions quickly in high-pressure situations
- Collaborate with other dispatchers and emergency responders to ensure effective communication and response to incidents
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors or management
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; one year of experience in police and fire dispatching preferred
- Knowledge of public safety regulations and procedures, office practices and procedures, and standard office equipment
- Ability to calmly manage emergency calls, speak clearly and concisely, interact positively with the public under stressful conditions, and make decisions quickly and correctly
- Typing speed of 35 words per minute or higher; ability to carry out orders with precision and speed
Salary and Benefits:
We offer a competitive salary range of $58,639 - $68,901 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
