Driver, Shuttle Job Description

As a Driver, Shuttle with Core-Mark, you will play a vital role in the operation of our business by transporting empty trailers to warehouse locations and delivering full trailers to domicile/shuttle yard locations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Transport empty 28' coupled trailers (doubles) from HUB location to home location in Leitchfield, KY, and return loaded doubles to the HUB.
  • Perform standard pre- and post-inspections and coupling/uncoupling of trailers.
  • Drive a tandem trailer, tractor trailer, and/or straight truck on intrastate and interstate routes to transport empty trailers to warehouse locations and deliver full trailers to domicile/shuttle yard locations.
  • Inspect tractor/truck and trailer to ensure they meet company safety standards and take appropriate action as needed.
  • Follow all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies.
  • Collect and secure damaged goods and customer returns in empty trailer to bring back to driver check-in at base facility and complete necessary paperwork.
  • Unload all equipment, materials, and remove trash from trailers as required.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties in tractor, loading dock area, and keep trailers clear and clean as required.
Requirements:
  • 6+ months commercial driving experience.
  • Valid CDL-A with Doubles Endorsement preferred, but willing to train.
  • Able to hand-lift and utilize two-wheeler, lift gate, and/or other equipment to move and/or stack product cases/freight of varying size and weight throughout shift.
