Cleveland Clinic's Avon Hospital is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join its 3rd Floor Medical/Surgical Unit. As a member of our team, you will provide high-quality patient care to cardiac, respiratory, wound care, renal, endocrine, gastrointestinal, and post-operative patients.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nursing, with a focus on implementing, monitoring, evaluating, updating, and revising patient care plans. You will work closely with our interdisciplinary team to assess and coordinate patients' discharge needs, educate patients and their families, and administer prescribed medications and treatments.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct nursing care to patients with complex medical needs.
  • Implement, monitor, evaluate, update, and revise patient care plans to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Assess and coordinate patients' discharge needs, including arranging for necessary services and equipment.
  • Educate patients and their families on disease management, treatment options, and self-care techniques.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments, including IV medications and blood products.
  • Document patient information accurately and thoroughly, including vital signs, medications, and treatment plans.

Requirements:

  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • One year of current acute care RN experience, with a focus on medical/surgical nursing.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires full range of body motion, including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
  • Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
  • Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
  • Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
  • Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
