Shift: 7A-7P, 12-hour day shift

Guaranteed Hours: 48 hours per week

Experience: Minimum of 1-year experience for RN and CNA; First-time traveler accepted for CNA but not for RN

License: State CNA licensure required for CNA position

Certifications:

  • RN: BLS, ACLS
  • CNA: BLS

Must-Have:

  • Charge experience for RN (please specify in the offer if the candidate has or has not worked in a CRN capacity)
  • Skills in Cardiac drips (Cardizem, amiodarone), Chest Tubes, and temporary pacemakers (preferred but not required)
  • Ability to read and interpret rhythm strips

Job Responsibilities:

As a Cardiac Nurse Specialist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care to cardiac medical and postsurgical/procedure patients. Your duties will include:

  • Caring for patients with CHF, angina, acute MI, and other cardiac conditions
  • Monitoring all beds with telemetry on the unit
  • Maintaining a patient ratio of RN: 1:5 (days and nights) and CNA: 1:8-10 (days) and 1:10 (nights)

Support and Resources:

You will have access to a team of professionals, including PT/OT, RT, hospitalist, and a cardiologist on call at night. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to work with a Cerner charting system and participate in a weekend rotation every other weekend.

Requirements:

  • Professional scrubs in any color required for RN and CNA
  • Facility and unit orientation includes hospital orientation and 1 shift on the unit
