Project Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned Project Engineer to join our team at Schwan's Company. As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the development of fully executable projects and acting as a resource from the conceptual phase through execution and commissioning.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provides project management services for assigned engineering projects.
  • Develops overall project design, including line specification, project budgets, schedules, and project justification.
  • Coordinates external engineering services and partners with internal teams for successful project completion.
  • Provides specifications, bid preparation, and bid solicitation to secure best pricing.
  • Identifies and manages capital and related expenses, optimum layout, equipment selection, and timeline.
  • Provides Global Supply Chain (GSC) feasibility perspectives for growth, productivity, and infrastructure.
  • Manages communications and project governance within GSC key stakeholders.
  • Fulfills requirements for the Design phase, Analysis, Sanitary design, and Safety analysis.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering (ABET accredited program preferred).
  • 2+ years of related experience, with a history of successful project management support on multi-unit operation projects ranging up to $1MM capital spend.
  • Demonstrates project management leadership, problem-solving, decision making, trouble-shooting, communications, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work with and influence diverse groups at various levels and across functions.
  • Strong ability to involve operators and mechanics in the project process.
  • Ability to train maintenance and production personnel as well as plan and execute work with maintenance and vendors.
  • Knowledge of Lean Six-Sigma concepts is preferred.
