Role Summary:
The Certified Surgical Technologist plays a crucial role in facilitating surgical and invasive procedures by ensuring the availability of sterile instruments, supplies, and equipment in collaboration with the surgical team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide necessary instruments and supplies to the surgical team during procedures while upholding aseptic techniques.
- Prepare, maintain, and organize sterile supplies and instruments for surgical operations.
- Ensure comprehensive case preparation, adapting to the specific needs for instruments, supplies, and equipment.
- Assist in the pre-operative and post-operative cleaning of the surgical room and instruments.
- Conduct surgical skin preparation and clipping as required by the procedure.
Qualifications:
Education: Associate's Degree, Vocational Certification, or Military Certificate in Surgical Technology (mandatory).
Licensure/Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (preferred). Must hold certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent from recognized boards.
Experience: A minimum of one year of experience in perioperative settings, operating rooms, or related military surgical technology is preferred.
