Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Veterinary Assistant to join our team. As a Veterinary Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to our patients and supporting our veterinarians and licensed veterinary technicians.

Responsibilities
  • Assist veterinarians and licensed veterinary technicians with exams, procedures, and patient care.
  • Handle and restrain pets for exams and procedures, ensuring their safety and comfort.
  • Assist with the taking of x-rays and other diagnostic tests.
  • Monitor and collect urine and fecal samples as needed.
  • Record and report physical signs of hospitalized or boarded pets.
  • Contribute to the cleaning and maintenance of our hospital environment.
  • Care for hospitalized or boarded pets, ensuring their needs are met and their comfort is maintained.
  • Collect and prepare fecal parasite samples for testing.
  • Prepare prescription medications for dispensing, under the supervision of a licensed veterinarian.
  • Provide surgical assistance to licensed veterinarians during procedures.
Requirements
  • Previous experience working with animals, preferably in a veterinary setting.
  • Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Capacity to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Well-rounded technical skills and a passion for delivering exceptional patient care.
