Position Overview

SUMMARY: A Financial Risk Analyst plays a crucial role in safeguarding the monetary interests of Consolidated Electrical Distributors Inc. within the Credit Offices. The successful candidate will exercise discretion and independent judgment to assess credit approvals, oversee a portfolio of receivable accounts, and review and execute legal agreements on behalf of the company. The ideal applicant must be self-motivated, prioritize tasks effectively, and work efficiently with minimal oversight.

REPORTS TO: Credit Manager

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proficient in MS Excel
  • Strong mathematical abilities
  • Background in credit and collections
  • Excellent proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree - relevant experience may substitute for formal education
  • Strong negotiation capabilities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Detail-oriented approach
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Self-starter capable of managing a high volume of work and multitasking effectively

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Primarily sedentary role in an office setting
  • Regular use of office equipment such as computers, telephones, photocopiers, fax machines, and filing systems

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Manage a substantial accounts receivable portfolio, including negotiations, financial assessments, and developing action plans with customers and the Division Credit Manager.
  • Recommend optimal collection strategies for overdue accounts in conjunction with the Division Credit Manager and PC Manager.
  • Evaluate credit applications for approval and establish significant credit limits.
  • Escalate collection efforts as dictated by business needs.
  • Assist the Division Credit Manager in upholding and enforcing lien and bond rights for secured projects.
  • Utilize experience and customer insights to determine appropriate timing for placing accounts on credit hold in collaboration with the Division Credit Manager and PC Manager.
  • Conduct face-to-face meetings with customers to foster and maintain strong relationships with clients and PC Managers.
  • Negotiate discrepancies with customers and arrange payment and dispute resolutions.
  • Present payment statuses, plans, reports, and information to management during quarterly credit meetings.
  • Maintain professional relationships with Managers and external clients.
