Senior IT Systems Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior IT Systems Engineer to join our firm-wide Technology Group at Stites & Harbison, PLLC. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing infrastructure leadership and technical expertise to ensure the smooth operation and continuous improvement of our IT infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities- Infrastructure Leadership: Oversee day-to-day operations, manage problems, and escalate issues when necessary.
- Project Management: Manage large enterprise projects, such as data center migrations and application rollouts.
- IT Infrastructure Optimization: Oversee and optimize IT infrastructure, including networking, telephones, storage, and helpdesk support.
- Cloud Infrastructure Design: Design and manage a scalable cloud infrastructure using major cloud services.
- Technical Standards: Establish policies and technical standards for IT platforms.
- Departmental Roadmap: Contribute to the departmental technical roadmap and budgeting process.
- Technical Support: Provide technical solutions for customer issues.
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively in project teams, often in a lead role.
- Process Development: Work with the training team to create, document, and implement IT department processes and procedures.
- Server Maintenance: Maintain and troubleshoot server systems.
- Technical Support: Provide technical support to internal customers.
- Server Monitoring: Monitor the server environment for availability, security, and performance.
- Security: Work closely with the firm's security team to ensure the security of our IT systems.
- Technical Expertise: Possess expertise in various IT areas, including routing, firewalls, virtualization, cloud, SD-WAN, Wi-Fi, and more.
- Hardware and Software Installation: Install, configure, and test hardware and software.
- Server Upgrades: Upgrade server hardware and software, ensuring a smooth transition for users.
- Knowledge Management: Maintain knowledge of server products in the marketplace.
- Communication: Communicate effectively using written and verbal skills.
- Security Assessments: Oversee security assessments and mitigate risks with the security team.
- Experience: Experience as a senior systems engineer, preferably in the legal space.
- On-Site Work: Working on-site at either the Louisville or Lexington offices is required.
- Windows Operating System: In-depth knowledge of the Windows operating system.
- Related Technologies: Broad knowledge of related technologies, including storage, capacity management, performance management, hardware lifecycle management, asset management, security, scripting/programming, patch/configuration management, networking, Linux, mobile devices, and Mac OS.
- Project Management: Project management experience.
- Cloud Computing: Experience with cloud computing technologies (AWS, Microsoft Azure).
- Industry Standards: Experience with HITRUST, ISO, ITIL standards, and implementation.
- Vendor Management: Strong vendor management and IT cost-management skills.
- Technical Leadership: Ability to provide technical leadership with a balance of vision and pragmatism.
- Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Collaboration: Ability to work well with others.
- Flexibility: Flexibility to work off-hours when necessary.
