Job Summary

The Olathe Public Schools is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Para Professional to join our team in the Early Childhood department. As a Para Professional, you will play a vital role in supporting the education and development of our students with special needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the supervision, care, and instruction of students with special needs in the regular classroom, resource room, or in a self-contained classroom.
  • Implement plans for instruction and provide information to appropriate school personnel.
  • Monitor student behavior and perform classroom clerical tasks.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Skills: Ability to perform multiple tasks, upgrade skills as needed, and work with a diversity of individuals.
  • Knowledge: Instructional procedures and practices, age-appropriate student activities, safety practices, conflict resolution, and stages of child development/behavior.
Working Conditions

This position requires the performance of light work, exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.

Clearances Required

Background Clearance and TB Test required.
