Nurse Educator in Rehabilitation

The Registered Nurse Educator in Rehabilitation plays a crucial role in providing expertise and support to caregivers through education, assessment, and evaluation of their ongoing learning needs.
This position involves mentoring, coordinating patient care, and delivering both individual and group education to patients and families, promoting continuous improvement in clinical practices.
The educator fosters collaboration within a multi-disciplinary approach, serving as a resource to healthcare professionals while adhering to industry standards and organizational values.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provides clinical expertise relating to assigned area for patients, families as well as for a variety of healthcare professionals.
- Utilizes nursing process for each patient through the nursing assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Assists in coordinating a multi-disciplinary approach to patient care with other members of the care team.
- Provides individual and group education to patients and families.
- Acts as a resource person to healthcare professionals in the hospital, home care, and the community regarding specialty area.
- Consults with physician regarding patient's treatment and educational plans.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is required.
- Current/valid Registered Nurse license from the state licensing board is required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) is required.
- May be required to have additional specialty certifications.
- Three (3) years relevant nursing experience and two years is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced Care Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
- Previous formal education activities are preferred.
Work Environment:
This position requires regular attendance and the ability to effectively communicate with staff and patients verbally and written. The employee must demonstrate a positive, caring attitude towards patients and possess excellent organizational and presentation skills.
Physical Requirements:
The job requires frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require the employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information quickly and accurately.
The employee is expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients and walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment.
Salary:
$36.35 - $54.53 per hour.
